1. Proteomic analysis of proteins expressed by Helicobacter pylori under various environmental stresses.

2. Study and screening of daily nutrients and conventional herbal medicine with therapeutic potential by using the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans as a model organism.

3. Study of crystallin aggregation in relation to amyloid formation.

4. Structural and functional characterization of snake venom toxins.

5. Development of protein-based antihypertension and antithrombotic agents. (Fibrinogenolytic proteases with thrombolytic and antihypertensive activities from Taiwan habu: Medical application and novel process of expression and production, US patent filed, Aug. 24, 2001, US patent issued Oct. 7, 2003, Patent #US 6630139 B2).
